Danish composer and instrumentalist Jakob Draminsky Højmark has since 1986 worked in the fields of european improvised music, opera and intermedia.

Born 1959 in Copenhagen, Denmark has he since 1977 been active as musician and composer in most of Europe with residences in London, Paris, West Berlin and Barcelona.  From 1986 he has been involved in European improvised music as woodwind instrumentalist (bass clarinet and sopranino saxophone). 

He has done composition and instrumental studies with Pierre Dørge (Copenhagen), Wolfgang Fuchs (Berlin) and Gabriel Brncic (Barcelona) as well as he has participated in electroacoustic work-shops at DIEM (DK), IRCAM(F) and PHONOS (Sp). 

He has received commissions for works for instrumental groups and theatres, as well as grants from various national Danish art foundations.

Among his recent collaborators are french composer Pascal Comelade,  REAO w/Mark Cunningham and GAT, the danish noise duo Tzarina Q Cut w/Jørgen Teller, Koji Asano and DJ Mousedown. 

In the field of opera he has done several collaborations with the danish operagroup Musikteatret Undergrunden and the danish poet Peter Laugesen
