dSP FARENHEIT 33

Live piece for MIDI-sequencer, low tech sound module & multi effect processors (dsp).

In the MIDI-sequencer a basic 9 bar MIDI-note figure is repeated 5 & a half times.

This motif is doubled and spilt into two individual tracks - representing the treble & the bass register, triggering four different MIDI sounds; a string bass, a metal percussion, a reversed cymbal and guitarfret noises. Pan position and pitch bend are send from independent tracks looped individually.

The sequence is looped infinitely and played back at variable speeds controlled live by the performer.

The sounds generated from the sound module passes into the multi processor also controlled via the MIDI-sequencer.

Different DSP processing layers is available like multi-tap delay, ringmodulation, pitchchange, distortion, EQ and reverb.

In the midi sequence various tracks of MIDI-controller values dedicated to each DSP element are looped in random order. Each processor is routed in or out of the sound path in realtime by the performer.

The key motif and some of the random controllervalues are represented in the score.
